Abstract takes the example of Institute of Technology East China Jiaotong University and explores the current situation of counselors through questionnaires. The fourth chapter takes the example of an institute and analyses the problems and solutions to the training of counselor in the period of transformation. The fifth chapters introduces two solutions to the training of counselors. First improve and standardize the construction of counselors regulation. And second optimize the counselors team. Therefore, we are required to realize the great urgency of counselor’s training in the period of transformation of independent institutes on the basis of strategic and whole perspective and the current situation of counselors. Through this research , the quality and competency of counselors in independent institutes can be improved , and the ideological and political education for students can be processed efficiently. In this way, students can develop themselves comprehensively and their study and job pressure can be relieved. The leaping development for independent institutes after its transformation are really practically significant.
