Shanghai 20∞30， China Abstract: The nickel-based al10ys wíth different Nb contents w町ed叩osited on AISI 1045 carbon steel by laser c1adding.ηle effect ofNb on 伽e microstructures of the nickel-based alloy coatings was investigated usíng scanníng electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray di伪8Ction (x议。) techníques. The result show 伽at 伽e mícrostructures of 伽e Nb咽。dified nìckel-based alloy coatìngs are mainly composed of y-Ni dendrítes, interdendritic eutectics, CrB type chromíum borides, and dispersed NbC partícles. lt is found 也at 伽e addítíon of Nb wí11 lead to the precipitation of the NbC particles and M C type carbides instead of the A岳C ， and M C 23 6 23 6 3 type carbides 侃n be observed in the Nb-free nickel酣based alloy ωati吨. The microhardness and wear resistance of the coatings ìncrease with the 切cre树e of Nb contents. The improvement ofthe wea
