In fingerprint image preprocessing part of the paper the steps of pretreatment including normalization, image segmentation, median filtering, binarization, thinning, etc, and the steps of method carried on the thorough analysis and research to choose a kind of image preprocessing scheme. The method of extracting fingerprint details based on Matlab was adopted in the extraction of fingerprint feature and the pseudo-algorithm was given. Fingerprint feature extraction from refined after get the details in the fingerprint feature points of the endpoint and split ends here feature point contains a lot of false features both time-consuming and affect the matching accuracy. Using the edge to pseudo and distance to pseudo the feature points are reduced by nearly 1/3 and then extract the reliable feature point information to achieve the fingerprint matching.
