Analysis of the teaching material It is the second unit from Senior English for China Students’ Book2. The main knowledge of this unit is to let the students understand the origin and get to know the basic knowledge of Olympic Games, and also the similarities and differences between the modern Olympic Games and the ancient Olympic Games. This unit aims at improving students’ reading ability and comprehensive ability.Ⅱ. Analysis of the students The students must have known something about Olympic Games through the internet and other ways since the topic of this unit is interesting and familiar to them. However, they don’t often use English to express themselves and communicate with others, some of them may not be active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes.
