Three reasons for average people 1) Almost every one of us will be involved in public speaking in some form at some point in our lives, so we need to be prepared to do a good job when that time comes. 2) Employers consistently rank public speaking and related communication skills as one of the top skills they look for in employees. 3) Being an effective public speaker gives you the tools to make a difference in your business, in your community, even in the world. 2. Why Learn Public Speaking? Five reasons for English majors 1) To enhance students’ language proficiency and presentation skills; 2) To boost up self-confidence of students and the interest of speaking English; 3) To broaden the students’ horizon so that they can gain encyclopedic knowledge, which is of great importance, especially for would-be translators or interpreters; 2.
