It is regarded as the future development direction of the global manufacturing. Industry 4.0 requires the systems integration with an unprecedented degree which crosses areas, levels and life cycles. It depends on the necessary support from consensus-based standards. This paper starts with the background of Industry 4.0, introduces the importance of international standardization and the related international standardization organizations. The standards demand is analyzed from twelve aspects. And as the core of Industry 4.0 standards system, the standard of digital factory is introduced. At last, this paper combs current relevant standards for Industry 4.0 and the important developing standards.
