T he num erical m ethod deve l oped for present w ork is based on F luent 6. 2 w ith the standard m ode.l T he num erical predictions show that the velocity distributions on the stack surface acce lerates a long the w indw ard side and form a slow m ov ing recir culat ion zone in the leeside due to the flow separation appeared near the crest of the stack. M eanwh ile, the pres sure above the stack surface decreases a long the w indw ard side and is basically stable around the leeside. There is a large turbu lent energy generates at the top of the stack resulted from h ighly negat ive ve loc ity grad ient. A c cord ing to the smi ulat ion resu lts, the w indbreak w ith circu lar ho le seem s to be m ost effect ive in attenuating the velocity and the pressure act ing on the stack surface.
