Keywords:basic English;medical English;convergence;medical colleges 1 前言 在由基础英语转向医学英语学习过程中，各医科院校都面临很多难题，如学生积极性不高，教师教学方法陈旧单一等。解决这些问题的方法有:转变教育观念和模式,注重医学专业英语教学、大力培养合格的医学专业英语教师、选择合适的医学英语教材、利用现代教育技术优化医学英语教学以及多元化的测评方法。近几年我国有不少研究者对医学英语教学改革进行研究探讨，但针对基础英语与医学专业英语的衔接问题的研究却较少。如果二者衔接不好，将直接影响学生对英语的学习兴趣，结果必然会影响整个医学英语的教学质量。将英语学习的形式和内容结合起来，让医学英语尽量地进入外语学习是医学院校大学英语教学改革的方向，做好基础英语与医学英语的衔接是医学院校的当务之急。 2 基础英语向医学英语过渡的必要性 随着全球经济文化的一体化,生命科学的突飞猛进,我国的教育、医疗事业逐步与国际接轨,英语在国际交流中的重要性不言自明,英语教学在各高校也受到了前所未有的重视。只有精通了医学英语,才能更好地学习研究国外先进的医学理论与技术,与国际同行进行有效沟通,促进我国医学事业的快速发展[ 1 ]。由此可以看出基础英语向医学英语转化有着重要意义。 2.1 促进医药学的全球化发展 随着我国加入WTO后，医学事业也要与国际化接轨，社会急需既精通医学英语，有娴熟英语技能，又有医学专业知识能够开展对外交流的高级复合型人才，而医药产业在持续健康发展的过程中必须扩大对外交流，这样就需要大量懂外语的医学人才，据报道医学英语翻译、药品营销、药监、医疗行政、医药英语传媒、科研、外
