二○○年義工嘉許典禮 新聞資料 社會福利署推廣義工服務督導委員會致力推動義務工作服務，鼓勵不同階層市民參與義務工作。 委員會的成員來自社會不同界別，自一九九八年推行至今，已有一千百間不同界別的機構參與，登記義工人數超過十萬人。 在二○○年，香港的義工貢獻了一千百十萬小時的服務時數。 委員會在本年十二月日假香港醫學專科學院賽馬會大樓邵逸夫堂舉行嘉許典禮，並蒙行政長官夫人義工總領袖曾鮑笑薇女士及社會福利署署長鄧國威主禮。 委員會頒發嘉許狀予的義工及義工團體，表揚不同界別義工的傑出貢獻，藉此吸引更多人士加入義工行列，實在兼具雙重意義。 在二○○年度，委員會共發出由義工總領袖及社會福利署署長簽署的嘉許狀五萬張，當中包括位服務超過二十年的義工。 他們與獲得個人組別、公眾團體組別及私人團體組別最高服務時數獎的義工及團體，在次義工嘉許禮均獲得表揚。 同時，委員會頒發獎狀予20位2006-2007年香港傑出青年義工 - 最貼身關懷計劃獎》的嘉許 社會福利署 二○○年十二月日 Hong Kong Volunteer Award Presentation CeremonyInformation Note The Steering Committee on the Promotion of Volunteer Service of Social Welfare Department aims at promoting volunteer service. The members of the committee come from different sectors and professions. A central award system under the auspices of the Steering Committee was introduced in 1998 to give recognition to individual and volunteer organizations by every year end to sustain their devotion in volunteer service. From 1998 to the end of November this year, there are more than 590 000 registered volunteers and about 1 600 registered organizations/ schools/ professional groups/ public and private corporations registered in “Volunteer Movement”. In 2005, the registered volunteers served the community for more than 14 million hours. The Hong Kong Volunteer Award Presentation Ceremony 2006 was held on 2 December 2006 at Run Run Shaw Hall of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building to recognize the contribution of volunteers and encourage the public to join volunteering. The Ceremony was officiated by Mrs. Selina TSANG, the wife of Chief Executive and Volunteer-in-chief, and Mr. Paul TANG, Director of Social Welfare. Message on promoting family volunteering and fostering a harmonious society was highlighted in the Ceremony. In 2005, over 50 000 Volunteer Certificates were awarded to committed volunteers, including 50 volunteers who have served the community for over 20 years.
