Methods from January to October 2006 -2010, 76 cases (78 vertebrae) of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures were treated by percutaneous puncture under C arm fluoroscopy, and the channels were set up by pedicle of vertebral arch for PVP treatment. Results there were 65 cases of obvious pain relief immediately after operation, and cases of pain gradually relieved from 48 to 72h after operation, 11 cases. After an average follow-up of 12 months (6~18 months), 76 patients (78 vertebrae) had significant reduction or disappearance of back pain, without obvious complications. Conclusion percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures is a minimally invasive, safe and rapid treatment for pain relief.
