However studiesof different scholarson the sametopic of index system are inconsistent with each other and the overall research got a bit chaotic. Thispaper,focusing on index design and methodsmodel aspects,reviews,analyzesand concludesthe concerned research about Internet public opinion by meansof comparative study. It isfound that a number of areas are in鄄 volved in the indexofInternetpublicopinion,however someproblemsstillexist suchaslackingofprocessofargumentation,ignoringthe overlappingfinalstage,havinggreatsubjectivityinbothdeterminingindexweightsandmodelconstruction,andmissingcompletetheoretic framework,therefore,systematicandentirelifecycle-orientedInternetpublicopinionindexadoptingtheunifiedcriteria shouldbesetup.
