Radioligand assay and Fura-2/AM fluorescence spectrophotometry were used. Results: 10-7 ~ 10-4 mol/L artesunate on nmol/L 0.8, 3H -QNB and SD in rat salivary gland M3-R (receptor) with no obvious effect (n=3, P 0.05); 100 mol/L 10 mol/L CPA of artesunate (Cyclopiazonic acid) in cultured guinea pig tracheal smooth muscle cell intracellular calcium the release and subsequent non voltage dependent Ca2 + had no significant effect (n=3, P 0.05). The results suggest that the mechanism of action of artesunate on tracheal smooth muscle may be independent of M-R and intracellular calcium release.
