One of the differentiators of this market from other retail and distribution markets is that sources of supply for manufactured components may be both inter-enterprise and extra-enterprise. Many industries use component manufacturers who manufacture on a consignment basis. To support this structure the automotive industry (and many other companies that need to support after markets parts) are acknowledged leaders in collaborative manufacturing and supply chain execution Manufacturers often have one or two major operations around the country (or globally) that feeds multiple smaller operations. ·???????? They also support small orders The smaller operations then feed the dealerships, outside operations, outside stores and Customers.
