Methods: 1,3,5-Triacetylbenzene was prepared by ethyl formate and acetone reaction with sodium ethoxide and then the producing unsaturated sodium ethoxide solution was acidified with weak acid. Results: 1,3,5-Triacetylbenzene was syn- thesized and confirmed by TLC, melting point, 13C-NMR and 1H-NMR. Conclusion: The operating method of the synthesis of 1,3,5-triacetylbenzene was simple, cheap and easily available for the raw materials, so it could be used for the industrial synthesis of relatively large quantities.
