The Persistence of Memory (1931) Salvador Dali Yushun Xu 2010 Full Name: Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech Born on May 11,1904, Spain The most famous surrealist painter Dalís expansive artistic repertoire includes film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media. He had his first public exhibition at the Municipal Theater in Figueres in 1919. Studied at the Academia de San Fernando (School of Fine Arts). In 1926, he made his first visit to Paris, where he met with Pablo Picasso, whom the young Dalí revered. As he developed his own style over the next few years, Dalí made a number of works heavily influenced by Picasso and Miró. The most important person: Gala Fell in love in 1929, having lived together since then, married in 1934 in a civil ceremony.
