He was from America. He was one of the greatest inventors in the world. He was clever but he was in School for only 3 months. His mother taught him to read and write. He built his own chemical lab when he was a boy. His first invention was the automatic telegraph repeater(电报自动转发器) . He has many inventions in his life and some inventions have changed the world. Step 2. Presentation Show some pictures and ask students to be familiar with the words below. Telephone , car ,personal computer, TV set Ask the students to read the words. Step 3. Talking 1. Point to the pictures and ask students to say what they are. 2. Talking about the inventions: A: I think the TV was invented before the car. B: Well, I think the TV was invented after the T 3. Discuss in groups and number them 1-4. 4. Check the answers. Step4.1b 1. T: Tell Ss look at the pictures and years on the left. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen. 3. Ss listen to the conversation and try to match the invention with the proper year. 4. Play the recording again. 5. Check the answers. Step 5..1c Pair work 1. Work in pairs. Look at 1b. Student A cover the dates. Student B, ask student A when the things in the picture were invented. Then change roles and practice again. 2. Ask students to make similar dialogues using the things around them. 通过竞赛活动活跃课堂气氛;并为下面的教学活动做铺垫。 作业 教学反思
