China Abstract Objective To investigate the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-7 (MMP-7) in glioblastoma tissues and its relationship with postoperative survival. MethodsThe expressions of MMP-7 in 60 cases of glioblastoma tissues were detected by using the two-step immunohistochemical staining method. The relationship between MMP-7 expression and postoperative survival was analyzed by statistical method. ResultsThe total rate of MMP-7 expression in glioblastoma patients was 73.3%. The postoperative survival in strong expression group was signifi cantly shorter than that in weak expression group (χ2=7.043, P=0.008). ConclusionThe expression of MMP-7 might be an important prognostic factor associated postoperative survival in glioblastoma patients.
