Methods Selected 61 cases of patients with severe esophageal varices who were treated in our hospital from January 2013 to December 2015. A group was treated with non-dense ligation, B group was treated with dense ligation. To compare the therapeutic effects and the number of ligation in the two groups, and the two groups were followed up for 1 years. Results The total effective rate of B group was 94.28%, significantly higher than A group; 1 or 2 times ligation of B group was significantly higher, 3 or 4 time was significantly lower than A group; the death rate of B group was significantly lower than that of group A. Conclusion The efficacy of dense ligation in the treatment of patients with severe esophageal varices is better than that of non-dense ligation, which can reduce the number of ligation and is worthy of application and promotion.
