Methods: A total of 82 patients with irritable bowel syndrome treated in our hospital from October 2014 to September 2016 were selected and randomly and equally divided into control group and observation group. The control group was intervened by traditional nursing methods; the observation group was intervened by holistic nursing founded on evidence-based concept. The mastery of health knowledge, psychological status, nursing satisfaction and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results: The mastery of health knowledge in the observation group after nursing was significantly better than that in the control group ( P 0. 05) . The SDS and SAS scores were lower than those in the control group ( P 0. 05) . The scores of satisfaction and quality of life were higher than those in the control group ( P 0. 05) . Conclusion: The holistic nursing for patients with irritable bowel syndrome founded on evidence-based concept can enhance the disease cognition level, nursing satisfaction and quality of life of patients and effectively improve negative emotions, so it is worthy of clinical
