Correspondent: MA Ha-i tao, E-mail: mht 1986 @ sina. com) Abstract: To study the effects of microstructure of heat affected zone ( HAZ) after w elding, cold crack sensiti ity and microalloy ing element on the welding properties of the Nb-microalloyed steel plates used for the specified thick spokes of car wheels, of w hich both the rolling and cooling processes were controlled, the cold crack sensiti ity and hardening trend of the steel w ere e aluated by theoretical calculation. T he steel plate w as welded by DC argon arc process and the w elding parameters w ere simulated just like w hat role they play in actuality . T he microstructure of welded joints of steel plate w ere in estigated by optical microscopy and EM S, as w ell as the mechanical properties by testers. The results show ed that in the spoke plate the heat-affected zone (HAZ) tends to be small cold cracking and the Nb addition impro es greatly the properties of HAZ with no ob ious change in properties found in other zones after welding.
