Abstract Reading comprehension is a very complicated process. There are many factors that affect reading comprehension.，such as vocabulary, grammar, text structure and so on. Sometimes, it is difficult to understand the link between the language form and its meaning and hard to grasp the story development in a limited time. Reading ability is one of the important impacts of evaluating the standard of the English learners. Some researchers have administered a battery of perceptual, cognitive, and linguistic tasks to determine the relative amounts of variance in reading ability uniquely associated with each component process, when they recognizing that no single component that account for all the variance in performance on a complex task such as reading. The theoretical premise of vocabulary function is that vocabulary plays an important role in the language information processing, so enhancing the readers’ sense of the vocabulary knowledge can improve their reading speed and efficient. Analysis of text structure can help learners speed up their reading speed and have a better understanding of the article meaning through the chapters of the micro-and macro-structure. At present, vocabulary width or its size have been done by many researchers, but vocabulary depth has not got its due attention. This paper will focus on further explore of the vocabulary association and text structure on reading comprehension.
