E-mail Objective of this subject To study how the email works To learn about sending email to friends Attaching files to the email Electronic Mail E-mail is a more efficient means of communication than ground or air mail. A e-mail message is essentially a document sent electronically from one user to another. A e-mail system consists of the H/W and S/W that collect and deliver e-mail messages. E-mail server software : The software on the network or internet server that controls the flow of e-mail . E-mail client software: The software on workstation that helps each user read, compose, send and delete messages is called email client software. E-mail messages are stored on a server. When the user want to read the mail, the server forwards the messages to the workstation. So e-mail is a store-and-forward technology. E-mail addresses. Typically an E-mail address is a person`s user Id, an @ symbol, and the name of his or her email server.
