This pest o verwinters in older larval stage in the cocoon. From July toAugust, the larvaof first generation emerge and feed on 2year old needles, and cause sporadicaldamage in the orchard. The larvausually live in agroup and therefore it is helpful forar tificial control. According to the resultsof the indoor rearing observation, up to40% - 88% of the larvawere parasitized by members of Ichneumonidae and Tachinidae, which indicated the great potential of natural control of the pest by protection and application of natural enem ies.
