Today, we continue reporting on what we found – in particular how the Chongqing experiment has made a first, tentative attempt to link the rural and urban land markets. The Chongqing Country Land Exchange The clever part of the Chongqing experiment is that it links rural and urban land via a warrant-like certificate, the dipiao (地票，literally translated as ‘land ticket’). Let us explain. The Chongqing Country Land Exchange (CCLE, 农村土地交易 所) opened in late 2008 and sits in a building in the city centre (Figure 1).
