Students are encouraged to develop as independent and active learners of English. Part 2 Analysis of the teaching 1 . Analysis of the material status In unit 2 , students learn about a varity of heroes , heroes in history , political leaders etc; students get to know their roads to success , their contributions to our society as well . Our students’ interest will be greatly arisen . In the first three lessons , there are history makers , sports stars. Students already have some idea about heroes . While in lesson 4 , superman Christopher reeve lived his life to the fullest in spite of his disability , which will make students greatly moved , and then learn from him . In my opinion , unit 2 heroes will reach its climax with lesson 4 . 2 . Analysis of the students ●The students may be reluctant to guess the meaning of unknown word . ●The students may have difficulty in collecting information by themselves . ●They may not get accustomed to expressing their opinions in English . 3. Teaching objectives (1 )Ability goals ●To develop strategies for working out meaning when reading. ●To develop word attack skills to cope with new vocabulary and phrase verbs. ●To practice asking for and giving personal information. (2 ) moral goals ●To express opinions in English boldly by learning from heroes . ●To build up strong will and confidence gradually . (3 ) teaching key points ●to collect specific information by themselves ●to work out the meaning of the words from the context . ●to exchange ideas and express opinions in English (4) teaching difficult points To deal with possible problems in the students’ spoken language . To get students to work out the meaning of the words . (5) teaching aids : multimedia Part 3 teaching
