The Empirical Study on Administrative Pressure in Chinese Higher Educational Institutions

Abstract Based on currently conducted questionnaire, it is concluded that the administration in Chinese Higher Educational Institutions ( HEI) are under some occupational pressures, mainly shown in their emotional reactions and physical responses, yet for different people with different responses. Accordingly, to solve such problems, the method adopted by the majority of HEI administrator is “aiming at solving the problem”, that is, to face the pressure positively.

1 Introduction
In recent years, the problem of middle and young managers in HEI is becoming more and more serious owing to their over working under high pressures. What’s worse, not a few have passed away in their prime age. Given such context, it’s of vital importance to research into the issue of HEI administrative pressure. This paper, studied from the problems caused by HEI administrative pressure and focused on the investigations on this problem, points out the source of the problem, analyzes the causes of pressure and finally proposes some practical and productive methods to successfully dealing with such problem.
2 The methods adopted to deal with the problem of HEI administrative pressure
2.1 The make out of questionnaire
By means of interviews, open questioning in the public, the initial questionnaire is made out. While in application, some necessary adjustments are made based on investigations. Finally, The Questionnaire on HEI Administrative Pressures has been made out, with the total questions of 137, three parts and three separate forms:Namely,
①the source of pressure form, ②the pressure manifestation and ③ the form of responding to pressure
