The subjects ’predominance distribution reflects the performance of the basic research. As the top prize in the field of domestic basic research , national science award reflects the top level in basic research in china. This thesis analyzes the superior and inferior position of our subjects throu gh the study of rewarding items’distribution in the late 20 years , thereby makes it clear that the development situation of the basic research subjects in china , and then further works over some of the essential reasons leading to the change of the basic research subjects ’predominance distri bution. 　　Key words :national
