ABSTRACTIt is very important that vehicle suspension systems damping parameters are matched reasonably to improve riding comfort and control stability. The oversea car-makers commonly adopt doing experiments by replacing a series of different behavior shock absorbers or by adjustable mechanical shock absorbers, and analyze experimental results via subjective method and objective method. The technique is dominated by oversea car-makers for a long time, so far domestic car-makers require their help technically. Shock absorber damping force and rebounding damping force can be only simultaneity-adjusted and can be only discrete-adjusted. It is difficult to performance suspension damping parameters match optimally and automatically. By adopting Magneto-Rheological(MR) fluid dampers, whose damping parameters is adjustable, replace a series of shock absorbers to performance suspension damping parameters match is a new attempt, involving in several theoretic and technical problems, one of which is to develop a sensitivity current source which can perceive operational condition of MR fluid damper. Nowadays, domestic and overseas controllers and current drivers can’t meet requirement of output current which should be switched with operational condition of MR fluid damper and continuous adjustable, the key technique is kept secret to other designers. It is of significance to develop a current source with sensitivity to operational condition of MR fluid damper in order to study new vehicle suspension system damping parameters match methodology.In this dissertation, ultrasonic sensors are used to detect operational condition altering of MR fluid damper, digital signal processor is applied to process data of ultrasonic sensors and operational condition is recognized successfully, under the condition of given MR fluid damper and its running parameters.
