CAUTION: This note IS NOT APPLICABLE to the Speed Drives size 1 to 3 Indeed if network minibreakings take place during the working, SCF faults are caused when the voltage reappears. These faults are revealed by the upstream current detection in the phases on the small ranges (size 1 to 3) This detection cannot be disabled and needs a modification of the product, either hard or software. 1. PARALLEL CONNECTING OF SEVERAL SPEED DRIVES 1.1. Subject The parallel connecting of several Speed Drive allows to limit the use of braking resistances on machines in which the different movements are not in the deceleration phase at the same time. So the braking energy of one of these movements is sent back in the common DC bus and absorbed by movements which are working in motor mode. - Possibility of connecting in parallel the Speed Drive from 0.37 to 15 kW. - To date there is not any restriction about how many Speed Drive it is possible to connect on the DC bus. - Some recommendations and precautions have to be taken in account and detailed below. 1.2. Application examples - Metallurgy: multi-motors line machine - Hoisting: association of the translation, direction, and hoisting movement - Centrifuge: association of the rotation and extraction motors 1.3. Utilization 1.3.1 Balancing of the input currents Every Speed Drive should be connected to the same main supply.
