Semi-controlled Activities Semi-controlled activities focus more on meaning and communication. Communicative Activities Communicative activities allow for real information exchange. The new structure or function becomes integrated into the activity, which is no longer the only focus. Information-gap activities students have different information and they need to obtain information from each other in order to finish a task. Dialogues and role-plays Turn the dialogues into role-plays, so the students can pretend they are acting as someone else. Role-plays can be modified: actors can be irritated, bored or happy. Roles can be changed too: husband wife, two friends, etc. Problem-solving activities This type of activity tends to be productive because there is a clear objective to be reached or problem to be solved.
