They are home to 3.1 billion people, representing 42 percent of the world’s population. Combined, BRICS have achieved the Millennium Development Goal of halving the prevalence of undernourishment by 2015. Building on their experiences in reducing hunger, BRICS countries have also been instrumental in initiating mechanisms of South-South cooperation by supporting and promoting the establishment of nutrition-sensitive social protection systems in other developing countries. 链接: /documents/card/en/c/859f9c24-74ed-485d-a652-d01adea40997/ 2．China-Russia economic ties enhanced by trade and big projects 【China Daily 】Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev wrapped up his three-day China trip on Nov 2 with nearly 20 deals in investment, energy and space exploration and agreed with Premier Li to advance pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. With current Sino-Russian relations in the best period of history, Medvedev said Russia is willing to enhance traditional cooperation with China in areas such as energy, infrastructure construction and aviation, and to expand to new areas including e-commerce and financial investment.
