Organizations interested in ensuring that they have a competitive advantage in the marketplace understand the importance of a well-designed employee training and development program. Importance of training and development To perform their jobs effective and efficient employees need to possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform the tasks required by those jobs. Many employees have the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) when they are hired; others need training. All employees need an orientation to the company and to be socialized to the culture of the organization. All employees also need development opportunities to prepare them for other jobs within the company and future needs of the organization.
