RESEARCH ON INTEGRATED SECURITYSCHEMEOVER EPONABSTRACTWiththeadvanceofTriplePlay,EPON,asrepresentativeofPON,isconsideredasone ofthebestaccessmeansbecauseofitsbroadbandwidth,lowcostsandsimplestructure. However,duetoitspoint-to-multi-pointtopology,downlinkdataarebroadcasted.Also,its framesaretransparent,causingthesafetythreats.Ifnotsolvedwell,theseproblemscould hinderthe massive deployment of EPON.Onthebasisofprinciple,structureandresearchstatusofEPON,thisthesisanalyzedthe existingauthenticationandencryptionschemes.Thedefectsintheseschemeswerestatedand thesolutionsweregiven.Topreventmasquerading,abilateralauthenticationmethod embeddedwithkeyexchangeprotocolwaspresented,usingellipticcurvedigitalsignature algorithmtoverifyOLTandONUs.Meanwhile,theadoptionofDiffie-Hellmankey exchangeprotocolcansafelytransmitsessionkey.BasedonONUsrangingandpolling bandwidthallocation,twoencryptionalgorithmsusingtimestampweregiventoavoid eavesdropping.ThefirstonecombiningtimestampwithsessionkeyandusingHashfunction, theoutputmessagedigestisusedastheinitialkeyofAESalgorithm.Thesecondoneembeds timestampintothekeyexpansionofAES.Bothschemescanupdateandsynchronize encryptingkeyssafelybyadoptingtimestamp,thus,enhancingthesystemsecurity.The securityproblemsundermulti-servicecircumstancearediscussed,whicharethesafetyofall servicesinthenetworkcannotbeguaranteedbyusingonlyoneencryptionalgorithm.
