In the meantime, air transportation environment in China trend to follow the liberalization of international aviation. Thanks to Chinas participation in WTO, all the local airline companies are currently facing the historically serious challenges as well as equally important opportunities. Nowadays, there are four A-share listed airline company in mainland China, at the same time, an increasing number of local or private airline companies are rapidly developing. Every now an then, reports such as local or private airlines are busy preparing to be listed can be heard. People began to show great interest in the performance of listed airline companies. It seems to be very necessary at this time to evaluate the performance of listed airline companies in China. This study begins with an introduction of the concept of performance evaluation, then reviews the history of performance evaluation, then summarizes the performance evaluation on each period of listed companies in China. By describing the status of modern performance evaluation of listed companies in China, we point out the problems during the evaluation of existing study in listed airlines companies. Then we construct an index system to evaluate the performance of Chinese airline companies. The system can reflect in the aspect of capacity of profitability, of solvency, of operational and of development. It can also be included by financial index and non-financial index. Here we put additional non-financial index in the index system, which is specifically against the common problem of lacking the comprehensive analysis of financial index and non-financial index.
