GearboxFaultDiagnosisSystemBasedonDSPandHierarchicalTemporalMemoryAbstractGearboxisakeypartthatwidelyusedinmanymechanicalequipments.Performingmonitoringandfaultdiagnosisongearboxplaysanimportantroleinindustrysecurityandproductivityeffect.Inthispaper,anonlinemonitoringanddiagnosissystemisdevelopedbasedonDSPinordertorealizeonlinediagnosisofgearbox,andanewalgorithmnamedHierarchialTemporalMemory(HTM)isappliedonthesystemfortestingthediagnosisperformance.Usingembeddedsystemmakesiteasytointergratedataacquisition,signalprocessing,featureextractionandfaultdiagnosisonembeddedplatfomaswellasautomaticfaultdiagnosisandmanycommunicationprotocols.ThesystemtakesDSP-TMS320F2812asthecoreprocessor.ThehardwareisbuildedbyvariousperipheralmodulesofTMS320F2812,whichincludedataacquisitionofvibrationsignal,rotationspeedsignalanddigitalsignal.ThesystemcancommunicatewiththeuppermonitorbyGSMprotocol,TCP/IPprotocolandCANbus.AlotofsignalprocessingalgorithmsareembeddedinTMS320F2812forfeatureextractionofthegearboxsuchasFIRdigitalfilter,powerspectrum,zoompowerspectrumandwaveletenvelopeanalysis,etc.Inadditon,featureextractionfunctionsarealsoembeddedonDSPtorealizeautomaticfeatureextractionofgearboxfaults.ThispaperproposesaschemethatusingHierarchialTemporalMemoryonthegearboxfaultdetection.First,thestructureandprincipleofHierarchicalTemporalMemoryisintroduced.ThenwetransformthefeaturevectorthatobtainedfromvibrationsignalofsixtestingpointsongearboxintobitmapformatinordertomeettherequestofaHTMregion.60samplevectorsof6workingstatesofgearboxareselectedfortrainingtheHTMregionuntiltheregiongetsstablesparsedistributerepresentation.Afterthat,aconditionalprobabilitymatrixiscalculatedaccordingtothestablesparsedistributerepresentation.Intheend,usingtheconditionalprobabilitymatrixandcurrentinputbitmap,HTMregioncancomputetheprobabilityofeachworkingstate.TheHTMalgorithmisprogrammedusingVC2008inpersonalcomputer,itreceivesthefeaturevectorfromembeddedDSPsysteminthefrontend.Sothatallofthepartsofthissysytemareintegrateda
