AbstractWiththeinternetpenetratedintothefamilylife,peoplerequiremoredemandsabouthomeequipments.Peopleexpecttorealizelinkagealarmandremotemonitoringofsecurityrelatedinformationappliances.Buttherearekindsofprotocolsofequipmentcommunication,andthesestandardsaredefinedbydifferentmanufacturersororganizationswhichcannotcompatiblewitheachother.Thiscauseddifficultproblemsinservicecollaborationandresourcesharingamongdifferentequipments.Howtobreaktheinformationbarrierscausedbyheterogeneousstandardsisanurgentproblemtobesolved.Inordertosolvetheaboveproblems,peoplehavetriedalotofmethods,buteachofthemhassomedefects.Thispapertriestouseunifiedmethodtodescribedifferentdevices,andchoosespecificapplicationsaccordingtoactualsituation.Thispapermainlyresearchesthefollowingaspects:howtoestablishtheservicedescriptionmodelwhichisapplicabletokindsofprotocols;proposethemodelinthefieldofhomesecurityanddescribethedesignandarchitectureofeachmodule;howtoimplementandverifythemodel.Specificresearchincluding:Mainstreamfamilynetworkprotocolsareanalyzedindetail,afterweightheprosandcons,XMLischosetonormthedescriptionfile,UPnPischosetodesignverifythemodal.ProposeaservicedescriptionmodelwhichuseXMLSchematechnology.Thearchitectureandimplementationofthemodelaredescribedindetail.Themodelfocusonthefamilysecurityfield,itprovidesthebasicinformation,commonproperties,relatedservicesandoperationsofthemodel,wecanrealizeheterogeneousprotocolconversionwithouthavingtoprovideadditionalinformation,thisnotonlyconvenientforprotocolconversion,butalsoexpandedtheuseofthemodel.Thispaperdevelopsallthecomponentsinthedescriptionmodel,includingthegeneratorofequipmentservicesdescription,theUPnPDeviceandtheUPnPControlPoint.Peopleusetheservicedescriptioncreatortogetservicedescriptiondocumentwhichcorrespondwithgivenprotocol.Thewholeprocessonlyneedsomesimpleoperationontheinterface,thiscreatorgreatlyreducesthedifficultyoftheservicedescriptiondocumentgeneration.Experimentalresultsvalidatethatdeviceswhichsetupbygenerateddescriptiondocum
