Nevanlinna-Pick Generalized 2-by-2 Spectral Nevanlinna-Pick Interpolation Problems NSC 94-2115-M-029-006 栢 2NP 15 µ NP Abstract The two-point Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem and its generalization is studied in this project. This problem has been studied over past 15 years which is considered as the key to build up a definite mathematical theory for -synthesis. In current year, the research emphasizes on the transformation of the original problem from spectral radius being less than one to a simple one - a complex polynomial with roots located in unit disk. At the mean while, the solution space becomes compact but still nonconvex instead of noncompact, nonconvex space. The geometry characteristics, e.g. line, plane, geodestic line are studied. Now we consider the geometric animation for this space. For the coming year, The solution of this problem will be constructed and the numerical algorithm will be defined. Numerical example will be provided to illustrate the application of this method to -synthesis. Keywords -synthesis, NP problem, spectral radius. ii ii ii
