ABSTRACTTheCr(Ⅲ)andtheCr(Ⅵ)ionsusuallyexistinsimultaneouslyinnature.Thedifferentchromiumspeciationwouldproducedifferentphysiologyfunction.TheCr(Ⅲ)cationisakindofindispensablemicroelementtohumanbody,whichcouldparticipateinsugarandfatmetabolisminorganicbody.Butthechromium(Ⅵ)compoundisjustagenerallyacceptedcarcinogen,whosetoxicwas100timesmorethanthatofchromium(Ⅲ).Thecompoundwhichincludschromium(Ⅵ)woulddamagethecardiovascularandhematopoieticfunctioninanimalbodies,causethepathologicchangeofliver,kidneyandlung,maketheembryomalformationandsoon.Italsohasstrongirritationandhighpermeabilitytoskin.Moreover,ithastheembryonicdevelopmenttoxicityandtheteratogenicitytotheanimals.Recently,withtherapiddevelopmentofindustriesofleather,electroplatingandmetallurgy,whichhaverelationwithchromium(Ⅵ)compounds,thequantityofthechromium(Ⅵ)cationisincreasedrapidlyinenvironment.Thustheworkofdeterminationofchromium(Ⅵ)cationbecamesaveryimportantprojectinthefieldsofchemistry,environmentalscience,lifescienceandphysicalmedicine.Eelectricanalysis,chemiluminescencemethod,atomicabsorptionspectrometry,atomicemissionspectrometry,voltammetricandinductivelycoupledplasmamasssprctrometrciaregeneralananlticalmethodsforthedeterminationofchromium(Ⅵ).Thedisadvantagesofthesemethodsareoperatingcomplicatedly,consumingmuchtimeandneedingmorereagentsandneedingexpensiveapparatus,whichhavelargelimitationtotheapplicationandpopularizingofthesemethods.Thestudiesofnewanalyticalspectrophotometricandflorescencemethodsforthedeterminationoftraceamountofchromium(Ⅵ)cationwerecarriedoutinthiswork,whichhadtheadvantagesofsimplerequiringandconvenientoperatingandsoon.Themajorcontentsofthepaperweredescribedasfollows:PartoneCatalyticKineticSpectrophotometricMethodfortheDeterminationofTraceAmountsofChromium(Ⅵ)CationwithMethylOrangeasDeveloperTraceamountsofchromium(Ⅵ)cationweredeteminedbykineticspectrophpotometry,whichwasbasedonitscatalyticeffectontheredoxreactionbetweenmethylorangeandH2O2inH2SO4aqueoussolutionmediumat90℃.Thedeterminations
