Clinical sighificance of serum heparanase andhydroxy vitamin D in diabetic patients with acute coronary syndromeAbstractBackground and ObjectiveVarious complications of diabetes mellitus, particularly cardiovascular complications, have become the main reason for disability and mortality of patients with diabetes mellitus. The occurrence of these complications have complex and diverse factors. Among these complications, acute coronary syndrome ( ACS ) is a major cardiovascular complication of diabetes. Heparanase (heparanase, HPA) is the only endoglycosidase that can degrade extracellular matrix and the heparan sulfate glycoprotein in basement membrane specifically found so far. Heparanase plays an important role in tumor metastasis, angiogenesis, and the process of histogenesis, etc. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient the human body. In recent studies, it was found that active form of vitamin D and 25 - dihydroxy vitamin D not only regulate metabolism of calcium and phosphorus, but also play a more crucial role in glucose metabolism by stimulating insulin secretion and reduce cell factor-mediated β-cell apoptosis pathway. Studies have shown that vitamin D is the necessary material to maintain the normal insulin secretion and glucose tolerance which can ease the inflammation and reduce arterial endothelial injury .In view of the study of heparanase and 25-hydroxy vitamin D in diabetic patients with ACS was less, this study will examine the changes of heparanase and 25-hydroxy vitamin D in diabetic patients with ACS. The correlation of serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D and serum calcium, MMP-9, CRP, HPA level will be studied too.Materials and methodsThere were 28 healthy volunteers in the normal group, 27 patients in the diabetes mellitus group (DM group), and 52 patients in the ACS group, 46 patients in the diabetes mellitus complicated with acute coronary syndrome group (DM + ACS group).
