哈尔滨工业大学工学硕士学位论文AbstractWiththerecentdevelopmentofvirtualdesktopsystemsandthedevelopmentoflarge-scalecloudcomputingenvironments,virtualizationtechnologycontinuestomatureandimprove.Atthesametime,thetypesofapplicationsrunninginvirtualizedenvironmentalsoappeartobediverseandunpredictable.Asthevirtualmachinemonitorforvirtualmachinesislackofdirectknowledgeoftherunningapplicationcharacteristics,theuncertaintyofapplicationtypemakestheallocationofresourcesbetweenvirtualmachinesdifficult.Particularly,virtualmachineschedulinghasacriticalimpactonI/Operformance.Forvirtualmachinemonitorcannotperceivetheapplicationcharacteristics,weproposeanapplicationbasedVCPUvirtualizationtechnology.Throughthistechnique,weareabletoperceivethetypeofapplicationI/O-boundfeatures,andtoprovideaneffectivebasisforVCPUschedulingalgorithmtoallocatephysicalcomputingresourcesefficiently,andreduceI/Oresponsedelay.ThispaperanalyzesthekeytechnologiesofXenvirtualizationplatformwithadetailedstudyoftheXenI/Ovirtualizationtechnologyandfrontend/backendseparatedvirtualdevicedrivermodule.WealsoanalyzesXenvirtualVCPUschedulingalgorithm,discussestheacceleratingeffectofI/OresponsivenessforI/O-boundapplicationssuppliedbyBOOSTINGmechanism.Wepresentthatasforthesemanticgap”betweentheXenvirtualmachinemonitorandtheupperapplicationlevel,XenisnotsensitivetotheI/O-boundtasksmixedinhybridapplications,whichmeansthattheVCPUschedulingalgorithmcannotsupplytheI/O-boundapplicationwithschedulingaccelerationandultimatelymakesI/Oresponsedelaygreater.Inordertosolvetheproblem,weproposeakindofnewVCPUschedulingtechnologiesbased-onapplicationcharacteristics.ByestablishingI/Oapplication-awareagentinvirtualnetworkbackend,weareabletoinspecttheheadofnetworkpacketsandrecordnetworktraffichistory.Onthisbasis,astheapplicationtypesinvirtualmachineareunpredictable,weproposeaconfidencebasedI/O-boundcriteriaconsideringtheshort-termandlong-termI/Ocharacteristicchangesofapplications,whichoffersaflexible,effectiveanddynamicmethodfor哈尔滨工业大学工学硕士学位论文measuringI/
