AbstractIanMcEwanisoneofthemostprestigiouswritersinthecontemporaryEnglishliterature.EnduringLoveisoneofhisfinestnovels.Itisanoveloflove,faith,terrorandsuspense.AfterJoeandClarissa,theprotagonistsofthenovel,witnessedahot-airballoonaccident,therelationshipbetweenthemcameunderthemostintensepressureandfinallybrokedownwhenintrudeduponbyParry.Inthisnovel,McEwanexploresproblemsinhumannaturewhichwedonotoftenpaydueattentionto.EnduringLovehasattractedsomecritics’attentionintheWest.However,therearefewChinesecriticswhohavestudiedthenovelthoroughly.TheauthorofthisthesisintendstoanalyzeEnduringLoveconcerningitspostmodernistfeatures,i.e.indeterminacy,intertexualityandcollage.Withtheanalysisofthesethreetechniques,wemaybetterinterpretthethemesofthisnovelandthewritingstyleofMcEwan.TheuseofindeterminacyisremarkableinEnduringLove.McEwanappliesunreliablenarration,non-linearnarrativeandopenendingtocreateanuncertainworldwherepeoplebecomefragileanddisillusionedwiththelossoftrustandfaith.Asfarasintertextualityisconcerned,Ifindtherearesomeintertexts,suchasTheBookofGenesis,TheBookofJobandJohnKeats’spoemslinkedtoEnduringLove.Throughthecomparisonofthoseintertexts,wecoulddeepenourunderstandingofthecharactersandthethemesoflove,truthandbeauty.ItcanbededucedthatMcEwanisinfavorofthepoweroffaithinsteadofreason.Collageisappliedtothisnoveltoo.Differenttypesoffictionandnon-fictionliterarytextsareusedtopresentacomplicateandchaoticworld.Inpostmodernsociety,sufferingfromdifferentpressures,humanbeingsbecomefragile,distrustfulandfrustrated.Thefragilityoflove,theweaknessofhumannatureandthehelplessnessfacedbypeopleareexposedthroughthedetailedtextualanalysis.Whathumanbeingscandotosavethemselvesistohaveafaith.McEwanremarksthat,“believingisseeing”.Inthisuncertainworld,whatweseeislimitedtowhatispresentedtous.Faithisjoy,whichcanprovideaIharborofloveforpeopleinthischaoticworld.Keywords:EnduringLoveMcEwanpostmodernistnarrationindeterminacyintertextualitycollageII摘要伊恩·麦克尤恩是当代英国最具声望的作家之一。《爱无可忍》是他最好的小说之一。这是一本关于爱情、信仰、恐惧和
