ABSTRACTForanyrotorsystem,iftheworkingspeedisclosetothecriticalspeed,thevibrationwillsignificantlyincrease;Conversely,workingspeedisawayfromthecriticalspeed,thevibrationwillbereducedalot.Therefore,knowingthecriticalspeedsofsystemsisveryimportantforthesafeandstableoperationofsystem.Referencingthestructureofacertainaero-engine,thisarticleproposesadual-rotorexperimentbench.Themainfeaturesoftheexperimentbenchare:internalandexternalrotorwerecoupledtogetherthroughanintermediarybearing,andseparatelydrivenbydifferentmotors;fourwheelwereusedtosimulatethequalityoflowpressurecompressor,highpressurecompressor,highpressureturbine,lowpressureturbine.ThisarticleusedtheLumpedParameterMethodtosimplifythemodel.Accordingtostructuralfeaturesofdual-rotor,rotordynamicsanalysisiscarriedoutusingdirecttransfermatrixmethodproposedbyDr.HuofNanjingUniversityofAeronauticsandAstronautics:therotorcriticalspeedsandvibrationmodes,unbalancedresponseanalysis.Themainworkisasfollows:Firstly,thecalculationprinciplesoftwomethodsofrotordynamics—transfermatrixmethodandfiniteelementmethodareintroduced.Secondly,weusedLumpedParameterMethodtosimplifythemodel,usedtransfermatrixmethodtocalculatethecriticalspeedoftherotors.TheresultsiscomparedtotheresultscalculatedbyANSYS.Itisshownthatthecalculationresultsoftransfermatrixmethodisaccurate.Meanwhile,theaffectsofthesupportingstiffness,speedratio,gyroscopicmoments,length-diameterratioandotherfactorsonthecriticalspeedareanalysed.Accordingtotheanalysisresults,anoptimizationprogramofthestructureofthedual-rotorsystemisproposed,thecriticalspeedandvibrationmodeofthenewstructurearecalculated.Theresultsshowthatthedifferencesbetweenthe2-orderandthe3-ordercriticalspeedsaresignificantlyincreased,andtheamplitudeswhenspeedclosedto2-ordercriticalspeedaresignificantlyreduced.Thirdly,thetransfermatrixmethodisusedtosolvetheunbalanceresponseoftheoptimizedsystemwheneachwheelhasanunbalancevalue,unbalanceresponseschangingwithspeedsofthefourwheelsandbearingⅣaregiven.Keywords:dualrotorcoup
