山东财经大 山东财经大学硕士学位论文 i i Abstract In the field of L2 tense and aspect studies, the present perfect has always been an important concept for Chinese speaking learners, especially for high school students. In recent years, many scholars have made a great deal of studies from different perspectives on the comparatively simpler temporal expressions, but little research has been conducted on the more complicated temporal concepts or aspectual concepts. In this regard, the present study focuses on the present perfect. In recent decades, many scholars found that tense and aspect are influenced by linguistic factors such as lexical aspect, verb salience, clause types, narrative structures and temporal adverbials. Based on the previous studies, this thesis mainly aims to investigate the influences of lexical aspect and temporal adverbials on the acquisition of the present perfect in English interlanguage of Chinese high school students by using the Chinese Learners English Corpus. This study focuses on the written production data from the high school student sub corpus of Chinese Learner English Corpus. By virtue of using indexing tool within software tools, the researcher easily finds all the 439 present perfect obligatory contexts in the high school corpus. According to the tense/aspect error tags, six main forms and three main alternatives to the present perfect are used in the obligatory context of present perfect. In this study, each verb in the obligatory context was annotated and so was each temporal adverbial. Such statistical methods as Chi-square text and Crosstabs were adopted in the data processing and results presentation. Through the analysis of the data, the results indicate that the high school students‘ uses of present perfect are fairly good in general. The four lexical aspectual categories have significance among the present perfect use, and the result agrees with the prediction of Aspect Hypothesis from the exact categories of the lexical aspectual classes.
