It has a excel1ent BER performance to meet the strìct data service requirements. Recently ，the WCDMA specification employs a kind of short 企ame Turbo codes scheme，it could be used for some voice service. This paper researches the performance of specific Turbo codes used in WCDMA ，and explores the implementation og hardware. Above a11，this paper describes WCDMA Mobile Communication systelu in brief.. Next，it íntroduces the general architecture of encoder，the principles of decoding and the performance analysis about Turbo codes. We summaríze the decoding algorithm of the Turbo decoder，and a silnplifíed calculatíon algorithm of branch nlatrixes ís presented. The nlajor early-stopping approaches in litcrature are discussed. To achieve the proper par缸neters for realization of hardware decoder，the author took the simulatìon on WCDMA Turbo decoding with MATLAB software. According the comparison of a11 simulation results，we proposed a Constant-Lo 仕MAP decoder is suitable for WCDMA Turbo decoder. The DSP technology and TI s DSP chip- TMS320C5402 are introduced.
