The deformation during the solidification of casting and quenching after the solidification were simulated by commercial simulation software ProCAST and heat treatment modules in SYSWELD simulation software, and rules in the deformation were achieved. Based on the rules, the deformation was adjusted by increasing the height of the casting and an additional reinforcement ribs in the interior of the casting method. The parameters of thermal properties for ZL205A alloy in the solid-liquid phase temperature range and below the solidus were obtained by testing them in the heat solidus range and calculating them with the materials database in the software ProCAST. The experimental values of the line expansion under 300℃ matched greatly with the calculated ones. By analysing the deformation of the cylindrical shell casting solidification process of the actual production of the factory. Considering the deformation of cylindrical shell casting occurs mainly in a radial direction, the deformation of the casting inside is much larger than the inner. The walls’ thickness of casting in the deformation process will be reduced due to hinder of core; Casting’s deformation in a height direction occurs mainly in the early solidification due to the different amount of radial deformation caused by the different heights, but with the casting cooled in the flask, the radial deformation of the casting with different heights become consistent, and thus the casting deformation in the height direction is reduced.
