成都中医药大学硕士学位论文 成都中医药大学硕士学位论文 ABSTRACT Objective: Through the stict Randomized controled tial, we observed the clinical effectiveness of using electro-acupuncture or acupuncture to treat Bells Palsy. We also objectively evaluated the different effectiveness between the two acupuncture methods through the House-Brackmann scale (Global Scores) and the classification scale of Facial Paralysis. Methods: All 119 Bells Palsy patients were divided into an electro-acupuncture group as control group or an acupuncture group as treatment group randomly, 109 accomplished and 10 missing. The patients were treated once every day, five times as a course, two days for rest between the courses, and totally four courses. The therapeutic effectivenesses were systematic evaluated at the ending of every course, and the ending of 1, 3 months after all four courses. Results: ① The level from baseline of the two groups were similar (P0.05). ② From the grades of the House-Brackmann scale (Global Scores) and the scores of the classification scale of Facial Paralysis after the two different treatments,there were not significant defference between the two groups (P0.05). ③ The total effective rate, the recovering rate and the effective rate of the electro-acupuncture group were 95.00%, 45.00%, 36.67% respectively, and the total effective rate, the recovering rate and the effective rate of the acupuncture group were 100.00%, 48.98%, 34.69% respectively. There were not significant defference between the two groups (P0.05). ④ From the grades of the House-Brackmann scale (Global Scores) and the scores of the classification scale of Facial Paralysis the ending of 1, 3 months after all four courses, there were not significant defference between the two groups (P0.05).The recovery of the facial nerve in 3 months follow-up visist was better than that in 1 month follow-up visist from the grades of the House-Brackmann scale (Global Scores) and the scores of the classification scale of Facial Paralysis.
