English-Chinese legal translation has high professional requirements on the translators‘ qualities and ability who should not only know the stylistic features of both source and target legal texts, but also have high legal accomplishment. In recent years, as international communication is increasing gradually, a great deal of legal works and texts from all over the world are brought into China, however, compared with a lot of legal translation cases, research on legal English translation is far from enough. Constitution, civil law, contracts are common legal texts but fewer materials of real estate law translation can be found in China. The reason is that real estate is a new industry of which regulations and rules are not complete and perfect. The translation practice is operated as a translation project with the book Practical Real Estate Law, a classical legal text in the United States, as the source text. Each member chooses typical parts of the book as the original texts, and takes charge of project management, term database establishment and translation quality control separately. With Chapter One as the object of the translation practice, the report introduces legal translation principles and techniques, and presents the procedures of quality control. In pre-translation, the author needs to determine linguistic features of target text and unify the style; in while-translation, the author has to solve existing problems to ensure the quality. After the translation, the author must read all translated texts and check whether some common errors appear or not. The report is divided into four sections: Section1 describes translation project; Section 2 presents case study including analysis of translation difficulties and techniques; Section 3 introduces the procedures of translation project contro
