Abstrct Food safety is a major public health problem which involves a quite long chain, ranging from farm planting, breeding, food production, distribution to food and beverage consumption. In china,the current regulatory system is “from farm to table” in sub-regulation. It needs a certain amounts of time to coordinate various regulatory authorities and ensure every aspect of food safety, and the food safety risks in the sectors of food production and distribution are often concentrated in the link of food consuption, thereby increasing it in catering business. Since people are often crowded and pushed for time, the reception authorities engaged in major events seems to take a higher food safety risk. In this paper, based on the analysis of the currency of food safety regulatory systemand dangerous factors of food safety in major events, the author tries to develop a technical and regulatory system for food safety and put it into practice in all levels of food safety work, and at the same time to assess their effectiveness. It provides a scientific and effective demonstration to establish a integrated system of technology and regulatory mechanisim to guarantee the food safety in grass-roots practice, thereby contributing to prevent food pollution and reduce food safety risks in major events in Xiangtan, and then playing a great role in ensuring food security, protecting the people’s health and building a harmonious and stable society.
