The new Curriculum Reformation focuses on the Chinese traditional culture, especially ancient poetry, and realizes its importance of arousing mind, developing ideas, training faculty and cultural heritage. Chanting ancient poetry has special meaning in developing students’ sensibility of loving Chinese language and language sense, enhancing reading comprehension, oral and writing, improving linguistic literacy, promoting life-long learning ability and building healthy personality. Ancient poetry teaching in secondary vocational school adapts to the need of training high quality workers, arouses Chinese learning interests, leads students to focus on the accumulation and comprehension for language, attaches great importance to the heritage of essence of natural culture, and improves students’ reading and speaking ability and their Chinese attainments through the guidance to chanting ancient poetry. Aiming at the problems in ancient poetry teaching, this thesis analyzes and summarizes the previous results of ancient poetry chanting teaching through document analysis combining students’ psychology of Chinese learning; integrates the chanting resources of ancient poetry in and out class, unearths various chanting teaching modes, explores teaching methods to arouse students’ interests in ancient poetry chanting, trains students’ good Chinese learning habits; aiming at enhancing their Chinese attainments, implements teaching strategies as the characteristics of understanding, accumulation, experience and comprehension.
