Ab Abstract Ab Abstract V V V VI Abstract Scholars have been paying attentions to intra-industry trade for a long period since its concept was put forward. In recent years, a large number of new literatures appeared and they influenced people when they acknowledged with intra-industry trade again. This article reviews the literatures on intra-industry trade from the 1960s, in forward to clarifying different kinds of intra-industry trade’s causes, measurement method evolution of intra-industry trade’s level and structure, and a few discussions of intra-industry trade’s determinants. It can be a good reference for the research on the measurement method of intra-industry trade and its determinants in the near future. The economic links among countries have been tightening as economic globalization developed since the 80 years of the 20th century. International trade in the proportion of economic activity in the country is getting higher and higher, intra-industry trade has taken the place of inter-industry trade to be the main form of international trade. The problem brought by international trade became an important sustainable development issue. This article reviews the literatures on international trade and environment from the 1990s, presents the theories and empirical tests of pollution heaven hypothesis, theories and empirical methods of trade environment effect mechanism, and the advices to coordinate trade and environment by internalization of environment cost and environment control. What is more, on the basis of existing trade environment effect mechanism model, this article brings in indexes that measure intra-industry trade and builds an empirical model that can reflect intra-industry trade effect mechanism, to fill in the blank of relationship between intra-industry trade and environment research. Chinas paper and paper products industry is an important industry, a typical pollution intensive industry. This article adopts waste water, carbon dioxide, f
